Ex-Driver: This Episode takes a more serious tone compared to the first 4. There haven't been any run away cars for a long time so the éX-Driver's have some down time. Souichi is overhauling the Seven's engine while Lorna and Lisa decide to head for the beach. On the way Lisa is so bored because they have to drive at the same speed as the AI cars when there's no emergency, Lisa wishes that there would be a runaway car ‘right now'… and one comes along! Lorna and Lisa manage to stop it even though there only using Lorna's Europa. They discover that the run away was specially rigged to go out of control and break apart. It turns out that some people were testing there ‘skill and technique'. That night in the garage as Souichi is working on the Seven. They (Lorna, Lisa and Souichi) are pondering there future… what they will do when there are no more runaway cars. On their next attempt to go to the beach Lorna and Lisa are again interrupted by runaways but this time the runaways are gasoline cars. Lisa tries to stop them (without really knowing how, since as Lorna put it ‘stopping gasoline cars was never in the manual') when Lisa gets ahead the three runaway gasoline cars box her in a formation, Mr. Munakata recognizes it as an éX-Driver formation, this causes Lisa's car to hit a road block and get launched into the air, Lorna reacts quickly and positions the Europa to catch the Stratos, wrecking both the cars in the process although saving Lisa's life in the process. Lisa still gets critically hurt though. As Lisa is rushed to the hospital, Souichi rushes out to try and top the other gasoline cars even though the Seven is not completely ready since they were still working on it. He succeeds in splitting them up but while chasing one down he is attacked from behind by another Seven driven by Jou Toudou, a former éX-Driver. Souichi manages to hold his own against them but later the shifter on his Seven malfunctions and they box him against the wall, damaging the Seven. The episode ends as Lisa is wheeled out of the operating room in the hospital, she'll be ok. Souichi walks in, apparently hurt from the chase.
