Ex-Driver: In a future around 100 years from now, people no longer drive cars. Instead they travel around in an automated transport system using electric cars controlled by Artificial Intelligences (AI cars). The first episode introduces us to this world and how the AI car system operates. Every now and then an AI car goes out of control and the éX-Driver's are called in to stop them. The show starts with Souichi driving (presumably entering the city in the Seven) as the opening credits roll then the episode starts out with a routine stop as Lorna and Lisa help a family who's AI car went out of control on their way to a restaurant. After that the girls go out for the night. We get to know more about Lorna and Lisa as they talk in the bar, about how Lisa is bored with how things are and how Lorna still enjoys ‘driving around'. On there way home they meet a couple of guys with an illegally modified AI car, Lisa pushes a button and the car peels put (and Later on goes out of control). Lorna and Lisa are called in to stop it. In the process Lisa's Subaru WRX's electrical system synchronizes with the AI car and it gets hit and then wrecked. Later on in the chase Lorna's Lotus Europa gets damaged while trying to avoid a truck. Its then that Souichi is called in to help. At the end of the chase the three meet for the first time. Lisa is surprised (and disappointed ) to find that Souichi is a kid (she was expecting her ‘dream man').
