Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (US): This was the show's first special, the Millionaire Bowl 2000, a show to pump people up for the Super Bowl. All the questions would be related to sports. First to play was Charles Anderson. He made $16,000 without a stretch but his $32,000 question about what Kellen Winslow did not accomplish during a 1982 playoff game against Miami (Gain 200+ yards receiving) had him use 2 lifelines. First his 50:50, which left Gain 200+ yards receiving and Score a Touchdown, then his PAF who guesses Gain 200+ yards receiving. Charles went with his PAF and won $32,000. His $64,000 question was no problem but he needed to ask the audience on his $125,000 question, which asked what NFL player holds the record for most receiving yards gained in a single game (Flipper Anderson). When the audience didn't choose what Charles was thinking, he decided to walk with $64,000. His initial guess was actually the right answer. Next in the chair was Don Rohan. He needed to use his 50:50 on his $2,000 question asking who was not an announcer on the first 'Monday Night Football' game (Frank Gifford). He ended up choosing the right answer. He then made it all the way to $125,000 without needing another lifeline but is $250,000 question asking what college sent the most players to the NFL (Florida State) gave him some problems. First he asked the audience, which gave him 64% for Florida State (And the other 3 choices were all tied for 12%). Even though it was more than a 5:1 margin in the survey, it was not enough to convince Don, so he used his PAF. Who also guessed Florida State but was not sure. Despite both the audience and his PAF agreeing with him, Don decided not to chance it, so he walked $125,000. And everybody was right! Oh, well. $125,000 is still good! Last one in the seat was Steven Plotnick. He made $4,000 with no problem but he used 2 lifelines on his $8,000 question asking what sports announcer was not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (John Madden). He used his 50:50 which left Dan Dierdorf and John Madden. Still not convinced, Steven used his PAF, who said confidently that was John Madden. Steven went with him and got it right. His $16,000 question was all right for him but he used his ATA on his $32,000 question which concerned the player who holds the record for the most NFL games rushing over 200 yards (OJ Simpson). The audience's votes were spread 40-30-20-10, a rare occurance for Millionaire. The largest vote was for Jim Brown. But his guess was Barry Sanders, which got 30% of the audience's vote. Steven decided to stop with $16,000, and as it turns out, both of them were wrong! The answer was OJ Simpson, which only got 20% of the audience's vote. And that's it for the Millionaire Bowl.
