In Italy, a woman becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms during her mission to discover what happened to her mother, who allegedly murdered three people during her own exorcism. Review: "The Devil Inside" focuses on Isabella Rossi as she tries to figure out the mysterious murdering spree of her mother 20 years before. She later finds out that it was during an exorcism that her mother killed three people. After being arrested, Maria Rossi is sent to a mental hospital for the criminally insane in Rome and Isabella travels there to figure out what is wrong with her mother. The problem is more than just a mental illness, but evil itself incarnate in her. My first thought before seeing this movie was that it was going to be another one of those "exorcism" movies. Turning heads, spider-walking down the stairs...we have all seen them. Before this film, most exorcism flicks just focused on these traits. None of them really discussed the religious aspect in terms of the Roman Catholic Church. I commend "The Devil Inside" for doing this. It really revealed the true inner feelings of the Church on exorcism, especially in today's society. Some people are separated in the idea of exorcism, even the religious people and this film did a great job in conveying this confusion and conflicting views. Mental illness is the panacea diagnosis, but there may be something more. Honestly, I am not a very big fan of the hand-held camera style. But this movie, overall, did a great job with handling this style. Yes, there were spots where the camera was a little shaky, but it's a given with these kinds of movies. The camera was almost always on the action that was happening at the moment. It didn't try to trick the audience by moving the camera somewhere else while there is a mï¿½lï¿½e happening just outside the view of the camera. The fake-documentary style is one of my favorites, mainly because of "The Last Exorcism". Overall, the plot was very well planned. It was quite an original plot with a unique twist on multiple-demonic possessions. I thought that the plot flowed and didn't drag in any spots. All speaking parts fit in with the action and all discussions explained important aspects necessary to understand the movie. All in all, this is one of the scariest movies I have seen. Everyone in the movie theater was on the edge of their seats. Yes, the ending was a bit disappointing, but the cliff-hanger was a great way to end this movie. This is a kind of movie that if it ended on a good note, it would have ruined the mood of the whole movie. That shroud of mystery was a perfect touch. I found the ending words that "the case is still being investigated" to be a little cheesy, which is why I gave it 8 stars. But other than that, I would highly recommend that you watch it. It is well worth every penny. Enjoy!

But when Fabious\' bride-to-be, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel), gets kidnapped by the evil wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux)... It was genuinely hilarious. At first I felt that it was going to be a disappointment because of a few negative reviews that some friends had heard, and because the opening scene wasn\'t that great, but it seems to be the type of movie that gets funnier as it unfolds, as well as every time you see it. In the fashion of Franco and McBride\'s previous movie, Pineapple Express, it was a funny action movie that winded up not being quite what I expected, but definitely worth my time and money. The acting was good. The story line wasn\'t exactly original, but how often is a story line original? Overall a great movie to watch for a lot of laughs and a lot of new catch phrases.$

Something Borrowed (

$Watch Something Borrowed Sflix-By far, \'Something Borrowed\' is not an Oscar worthy masterpiece. But as far as chick flicks are concerned, this one was very enjoyable. Unlike many movies I\'ve seen with a similar storyline, this one focuses not only on the present but also on the past. In fact, if you\'re able to see past the shallow plot, you\'ll find that there are some actual thought provoking ideas behind \'Something Borrowed\'. The movie deals with choosing between what\'s morally right and what\'s right for one\'s happiness. Various characters seem to dwell on the past, and it therefore also addresses people\'s inability to forgive themselves for past mistakes. Personally, I could really relate to some the issues the character\'s faced, such as Ginnifer Goodwin\'s regret over making the wrong choices which therefore altered her life. The movie often veers from being a typical Chick Flick to a Drama, and some scenes brought a little tear to my eye. The acting was excellent, the actors performances very convincing, and some scenes (such as flashbacks) were very well directed. Admittedly, there was some back and forth within the story, and some scenes were added purely for reaction- but overall, this, to me, was a great flick for a rainy Saturday afternoon.$

Jumping the broom is a type of movie that avoids many of the typical and overused stuff of the genre yet provoke a fair degree of an enjoyable experience. It\'s not a perfect movie but hey, c\'Mon who needs that tension, we are going for fun. The movie has enough entertaining and funny moments that will provide satisfaction to your movie watching experience thanks to the award-winning cast for their great performances. This takes us to the movie theme and plot. In a simple style and scale the director Salim Akil presents a family and culture clashing comedy that is well filmed with progressive shots with a bright tinch of melodrama. As in many romantic movies, the story is about two lovebirds, but here the story is all about class and status. The film features two love-birds Sabrina Watson (Paula Patton) and Jason Taylor (Laz Alonso) planning to marry each other. However the main setup of the film is that these two love each other but their families don\'t. Apart from the storyline the film works only because the script is a juggling stuff with a dozen of jokes and gags. Another coup for the film is it\'s amusing supporting characters which prevents a hard collision and bloodbath when these two entirely different families meet each other. This film also has other shining moments such as it\'s elegant wedding feel and well coordinated cinematography. The casting is well chosen and diverse. Overall, by most standards it\'s not enough for a movie to be a hit but will attract the audience as a funny and an interesting flick.$

Thor (2011)

$Watch Thor Sflix-Thor is obviously the latest film in the Marvel Film Universe, directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring fellow Aussie Christ Hemsworth as the Titular character. The plot kind of cuts to the spoilers early on so as a spoiler-free review I shouldn\'t tell you the plot. Though Kenneth Branagh is a really weird choice to direct this he does make this (I am happy) to say Marvel\'s best work yet. He mixes a fan boy\'s wet dream and mixes it with suitable humor, dazzling FX and (probably the best part of the movie) the family\'s relationship to make this appeal to everybody. The acting is also good, Chris Hemsworth was probably the perfect choice for Thor, Anthony Hopkins played Odin good (as he could do in his sleep), Natalie Portman played Jane good, though the character doesn\'t have that much interesting, she does what she has too do, Kat Dennings was actually really good as Jane\'s annoying friend who freshens up the humor throughout the movie, Stellan Skarsgård is good, the supporting cast was generally good but Tom Hiddleston steals the show, as the envious of Thor and mischievous villain Loki. Kenneth Branagh did a really good job at this movie. Though it is at the start a bit hard to get into. But Thor is a great action film with strong acting, screenplay and direction. This is really the Superhero movie to beat this year.$

Soul Surfer (2011)

$Watch Soul Surfer Sflix-Soul Surfer was an excellent movie about a thirteen year old who after losing an arm came back. I saw the movie with my mom and we both cried during the whole thing. All the actors and actresses were extremely good. Even Carrie Underwood. The tsunami in Thailand part really added to the movie. The surfing was excellent and so was the end and credits with pictures of the real people was amazing. This film teaches a lot about having good sportsmanship. Through out the film you could tell that even though she was having a hard time she was pushing through. Even though I\'m Christan this was the first Christan film I\'ve seen apart from my church classes. I would highly recommend this movie for anyone. It is truly an inspirational story.$

Water for Elephants

$Watch Water for Elephants Sflix-Sara Gruen\'s Book Water For Elephants was a masterpiece and while books are always better than the movie, this movie came pretty darn close. A few changes were made from the book but the movie captures the essence of the book masterfully. The cinematography alone deserves awards. The set design and costumes are the best I\'ve seen since The Titanic. The cast is sublime. Robert Pattinson proves that he is more than a pretty face. While he still seems to be stiff a couple of times his performance is spot on. His work with Rosie(Tai)the elephant melted my heart. Tai herself stole almost every shot she was in. Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz remind the viewer why they are Academy Award winners. Francis Lawrence\'s direction and vision for the movie truly transports the viewer to the 1930\'s. I\'ve seen the movie 3 times and I know I\'ll go back to see it again. I\'ll be buying the DVD the day it is released too. The movie is a must see in my opinion.$

Arthur (2011)

$Watch Arthur Sflix-The original Arthur, was and is a great film. It was funny, well written and well acted. It garnered 4 Oscar nominations and 2 wins. It won 4 out of 5 Golden Globes. John Gielgud so deserved his award so well that year. Dudley Moore, in the title character, had the same lovable charm that Russel Brand has in this remake. But, there are several things missing which make the 2011 version an OK film, and not a part of cinema awards. First, its 2011 and not 1981. The original version would never be made today. Plain and simple. Arthur was a drunk. A hard drinker, who fell down, slurred words,and yes, even was driving drunk in several scenes. No way would that get approved today, or anyone think it was funny. It was this funny drunk that made Dudley\'s Arthur so much fun, even though today we would rush for interventions or rehab. Second, the director forgot this is a New York film. It is set in New York, but so much changed from one film to the other that the setting was indifferent here. No more neighborhood bars, dinners, landmark shopping sites, or eateries. There is one really good scene involving Grand Central, but it does not make up for the lack in the rest of the film. Linda becomes Naomi in the new film. She is not a New Yorker. Does not look like one, or act like one. She plays the part well, but its just not the same. Again, this remake could be set anywhere. Can you imagine the original anywhere but NY! Third, as good as Helen Mirrim is, she is not the Hobson that John Gielgud presented. She will not get any awards for this presentation. So, if you do not make any comparisons, you will like the film, but most likely not fall in love with it for 30 years. The film is well acted, written in parts, but it steals one lines too much from the original, that just seemed forced here or are not well placed. Whereas we see Arthur drink, he never really seems drunk. The relationship with Hobson is presented as a mother/son, rather than father/son. It was hard to believe in the relationship as much as the previous film. The chemistry between Arthur and Naomi was believable and flow very well throughout the film. Susan Johnson, played by Jennifer Garner had much more of a role here than the original. It needed to be reverted back. It was just not funny. Lastly, Nick Nolte was just plain horrible and nasty. He could have been written out completely. It made no sense for plot development. So, the new Arthur is as an OK remake, but not as good as it could have been.$

Insidious (2011)

$Watch Insidious Sflix-Insidious is the latest horror endeavor by the original Saw creator, James Wan, and Paranormal Activity producer Jason Blum that will literally terrify audiences. It revolves around Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson) and Renai Lambert (Rose Byrne as they move into a new home. Their oldest son, Dalton (Ty Simpson) is an adventurer who likes to explore. One night when venturing into the attic, he falls and hits his head. The next morning, he is in a coma. Unable to do anything, Josh and Renai bring him home to care for in the hope he will one day come out of it. Then, strange things start to happen. Strange noises occur. Faces appear. Things are moved. The alarm sounds. Strange happenings occur more frequently. After a while, they have had enough and move to a small house for lease. It does not help. Apparently, it was not the house that was haunted, but rather Dalton. More bizarre things happen - frightening things. At this point, they turn for help from Josh\'s Mom, (Barbara Hershey) and Elise (Lin Shaye). She explains the strange things that pervade: what is happening, why it is happening, and how to get Dalton back. This leads to a secret memory that Josh has buried (which was easy to figure out) and a terrifying venture into the spiritual world. Insidious, despite a few flaws is deft craft, using atmosphere, suspense, terror, and stunning visual imagery that will frighten the deepest part of your soul. This accomplishment is primarily done with Wan\'s wonderful direction that leaves an audience confused, guessing, and frightened. The performances by Wilson, Byrne, Shay, and Simpson are also good, giving the audience people to care about. The story is also engaging, slowly unfolding in a subtle way that keeps our interest. It is part Amityville Horror, part Poltergeist, part Exorcist, and a few other horror gems. The most stunning aspect is the imagery, especially when crossing over into the spirit world. It is not only frightening, but downright disturbing. Yes, it has a few flaws. The explanation offered by Elise seems too convenient and easy, as if writers assumed the audience HAD to know what was going on instead of leaving us in the dark to figure it out for ourselves. Hop (2011)

$Watch Hop Sflix-Hop was a film that I saw advertised earlier this week, and was immediately interested in seeing it. And I am glad I did, as for Easter this is a treat for the whole family with a lot to like. As a family movie, Hop is cute and funny entertainment for both kids and adults. Is it quite perfect? Not quite. I personally would have liked Hop to have been longer by about three or four minutes, that way some of the human characters could have been developed a little more. Also, while the pace in general is fast and brisk, there is the odd occasion in the film where it could have slowed down a little to give the audience a little more room to breathe. However, Hop is a perfect example of a film that ticks most of the right boxes when it comes to a family movie. In my mind, when it comes to part-animated/live-action comedies, Hop is one of the better ones, much better than the Garfield and Alvin and the Chipmunks movies anyway. The animation is great, with vibrant colours and bright backgrounds and the bunnies and chicks look absolutely adorable, and the live-action sequences with its striking locations and crisp editing are equally lovingly rendered. Hop also benefits from a bright and breezy soundtrack, and a jaunty score by Chris Lennertz that fit with the tone of the film very well. The writing is funny and smart, people might argue there aren\'t enough pop-culture references to satisfy adults, maybe so but as an 18 year old female the lack of emphasis on pop-culture references didn\'t bother me as I have seen some animated films and shows where it goes overboard with references that are either dated or distract from the film completely. If anything, to be light with that kind of humour was a strength as Hop wasn\'t really about that. Also the running gag about Hugh Hefner and the altogether different kind of bunny didn\'t bother me at all, but I can see why some may find it questionable. The script has some funny and witty lines too, with Carlos having the best and most memorable. I was also taken with the story. While not the most original story in the world, it is a polished and fun one that is fast-paced and entertaining throughout and because of its sophistication it appeals to adults as well as kids. The characters are all likable and engaging, more the animated characters than the live-action characters admittedly, EB is a zany and endearing protagonist especially. Tim Hill\'s direction is above serviceable, and the acting is well done. James Marsden manages to be likable without being bland, and Elizabeth Perkins is lovely to watch. Even seeing David Hasselhoff was fun. And there is also a lively vocal cast, headed by a very vivacious Russell Brand as EB and Hugh Laurie who is rock solid as always as his dad, while Hank Azaria is outstanding in a dual role particularly as Carlos.$

$Watch Source Code Sflix-Source Code is a Action Sci Fi Thriller film Directed by Duncan Jones (same guy that brought us Moon, 2009) This film centres a soldier who wakes up in another man\'s body. He soon discovers he\'s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. It\'s starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga, Jeffrey Wright, Russell Peters, Michael Arden & Scott Bakula. #FACT: Topher Grace was also considered for the lead role. SLIDER\'S REVIEW: When I saw the trailer for this film, I knew I had to go see it. Last time I saw Jake Gyllenhaal in a major role was in Love & Other Drugs and his performance there was very heartfelt. When I watched Source Code I was surprised that it surpassed all my expectations, believe me when I say this is one epic blockbuster (a must see). It\'s one of the most thrilling rides I\'ve been on whilst watching a film. The action is very hands on and detective like work so were exploring with the lead role, this made it very entertaining. I don\'t think I\'m exaggerating when I say this is as good as Inception (yep it\'s that good). From the moment we meet Capt. Colter Stevens on a train this film had my full attention (it just grabs you from the word Go). I felt like I started off with the main character because he knows as much as I did when the film starts so it felt like we went through understanding the Source Code together. I loved the twist and turns the storyline takes, one minute I thought I knew what was going to be the outcome... then it switches. it has a very creative plot alongside the type of love story I could see developing. Parts of the film has that jaw dropping effect that just keeps getting better. I think most people who see this film will want to watch it again to understand it more or simply to just to watch it again. I loved the concept that a man could go back 8 minutes using a computer programme before an explosion in a bid to save lives. The visual effects of the explosions looked really cool to watch. The director has produced the world a smart action thriller that does its job extremely well and will be talked about for months to come. The Best Film in 2011 So Far. Jake Gyllenhaal has done it again. This has got to be his best work on screen in a very long time. His character as Capt. Colter Steven was a very heart pounding person to watch. He carried this film from the moment we set eyes on him all the way to the end. He\'s a smart and charming man that just had everything his character needed. A Very good actor. Michelle Monaghan is one pretty woman. Her character was Christina. She plays this neatly dressed, well-spoken woman exceptionally well. I\'m sure it wasn\'t easy trying to keep up with forever changing scenarios. The women on the monitor screen is Carol Goodwin, her character is played by Vera Farmiga. She help us understand more as the film goes along. She also is a very good actress. Jeffery Wright plays a very believable Dr. Rutledge. I for one was surprised to see Russell Peters in this film (when did he become an actor?). I have to give credit to the comedian because he does an Applausable job, surprisingly the acting seemed to come natural to him. This cast was amazing as a whole.$
