A talisman, a pendant with the likeness of a gargoyle, is stolen from a museum collection that arrives in town. It eventually falls into the hands of a teenager, who mistakenly awakens a gargoyles that hatches from a stone statue. He doesn't know what the thing is at first, thinking it a type of weird bat, and he keeps it under his basement stairs and feeds it dinner scraps until it gets too big and flies away. This creature is the leader and, with the stolen pendant, will free all the other gargoyles which are encased within stone statues from the collection. He, his best friend and his new girlfriend, Fiona, have to figure out a way to stop the rampaging monsters before they destroy the entire town. The movie is better than you think it would be, quick paced and to the point.
